Creates single 45-degree flares on aluminum, brass and copper tubing from 3/16 to 5/8 inch with a swivel cone and sliding T-handle
The Westward 3CYR7 flaring tool creates single 45 degree flares on aluminum, brass and copper tubing. It covers six sizes from 3/16 in to 5/8 in, matching the most frequent automotive and refrigeration lines. Mechanics and HVAC technicians use it to form leak-free joints on-site.
A swivel cone centres itself on the tube end while the sliding T-handle supplies leverage, so the flare forms evenly without cracking the wall. The tool accepts walls up to .065 in thick; thicker tubing will not seat properly. Aluminium body keeps the kit light but requires a clean, square cut to avoid oval flares.
The hardened cone maintains its profile through many cycles, producing repeatable 45 degree angles without galling soft metals. Heat does not build up in the aluminium frame during extended sessions, so dimensional accuracy holds steady. The fixed size set limits the tool to the six listed diameters; larger or metric lines need a different kit.

After setup, form a flare on a scrap piece of 3/16 in copper or aluminum tube and measure the angle with a protractor; it should read 45 degrees and the cone should seat evenly without cracks.
The tool comes with six dies for 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 in tubing, a sliding T-handle and the swivel cone; no tubing, deburring tool or lubricant is supplied.
Choose the Westward 3CYR7 as listed — it is designed specifically for single 45-degree flares on aluminum, brass and copper with a maximum wall thickness of 0.065 in.
