What this level does

The Westward 4MRV7 is a 24 inch aluminium I-beam level designed for checking horizontal, vertical and 45 degree alignments. It carries four acrylic barrel vials covering level, plumb and 45 degree readings without a top-read window.

Accuracy over time

Standard accuracy is rated at .001 and the acrylic vials hold calibration through repeated job-site use. The non-magnetic aluminium frame resists corrosion and will not attract metal debris that could interfere with readings.

Check before ordering

Ensure a 24 inch straight edge fits the work pieces and storage space you have. The tool has no magnetic base, so it will not cling to steel studs or pipe. Buyers who need a top-read window, illuminated vials or a shorter length for tight corners should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 24 in aluminum frame heat up or draw power when left in the sun all day?

The frame is passive aluminum with no electronics, so it generates no heat and consumes no power.

What must I already own to use the 45 degree, level and plumb vials on this 4MRV7?

Only the level itself is required; the four acrylic barrel vials are built in and need no batteries or accessories.

Will the .001 accuracy spec still hold if I keep using my older magnetic levels alongside this nonmagnetic one?

Yes, each vial is calibrated independently, so the presence of magnetic models does not affect this level's stated accuracy.
