This three-piece set provides H3-limit UNC taps for cutting #10-24 right-hand threads in general-purpose materials. Each tap is made from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and four flutes for chip clearance. The 7/8 inch thread length and 2 3/8 inch overall length suit standard through-hole and blind-hole work. Supplied as a matched trio for consistent fit.

H3 limit capacity and headroom

The H3 limit creates a standard class-of-fit for #10-24 threads, delivering reliable engagement in mild steel, aluminium and plastics. Four flutes give adequate chip room for the 7/8 inch cutting depth, but deep blind holes may need frequent withdrawal to prevent packing. High-speed steel handles moderate heat, yet sustained high-speed production runs will dull the edges faster than coated alternatives.

UNC thread standard practical limits

Unified National Coarse #10-24 defines the pitch and major diameter, so these taps cannot cut fine-pitch or metric threads. Right-hand orientation restricts use to conventional fastener direction. The bright finish offers no lubricity enhancement, requiring cutting fluid to avoid galling in stainless or tough alloys. Package quantity is fixed at three taps per set.
