This three-piece Westward set provides the taps needed to cut M8 x 1.25 metric coarse threads in a range of materials. The high-speed steel construction offers durability for general-purpose threading tasks. Right-hand thread direction suits standard fastening applications. It is intended for mechanics and fabricators creating new internal threads or restoring damaged ones.

D5 Thread Limit Fit

The D5 limit defines the pitch-diameter tolerance that determines whether the finished thread meets the required class of fit. Selecting the correct limit is the single specification that decides if this set produces acceptable threads for the application. An incorrect limit yields threads that are too tight or too loose for the mating fastener.

Three-Tap Through-Hole Capacity

The set includes taper, plug and bottoming taps to start, advance and finish threads in through-holes up to the 1 1/8 inch thread length. Blind holes deeper than the bottoming tap chamfer will require additional tooling not included here. The 2 23/32 inch overall length gives adequate reach for most bench work.
