Westward Inspection Kit 6-Piece

The Westward Inspection Kit contains six pieces designed for inspection and retrieval tasks in automotive and general hardware applications. It features a telescoping shank with changeable heads for versatile reach. The handle uses a soft-grip plastic material for comfort during use. This kit suits technicians and DIY users needing magnetic pickup and visual inspection tools.

Thermals Noise and Power

As a purely mechanical hand tool set, the kit generates no heat, noise or electrical power draw during operation. Performance depends entirely on user-applied force and the working environment. The rigid telescoping shank extends to a maximum length of 26 1/2 inches for accessing distant areas. No external power source or cooling is required for any component.

Build Quality and Connectors

The kit includes two magnetic pick-ups with permanent magnets offering maximum pull capacities of 14 lb and 2.3 lb. An acrylic oblong inspection mirror provides 360-degree adjustment for optimal viewing angles. A 2-inch round magnifier head assists with detailed visual checks. The magnetic handle end adds convenience for retrieving ferrous objects. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the magnetic pick-up or mirror to the telescoping shank without cross-threading the changeable heads?

Align the threads on the chosen head with the shank end, turn clockwise by hand until snug, then extend the shank to the needed length up to 26 1/2 in and lock it before use.

Which parts of the 6-piece kit wear out and need replacement first?

The acrylic inspection mirror can scratch or crack, the two magnetic pick-ups may lose pull strength over time, and the soft-grip handle can degrade with solvent exposure.

At what point does the magnetic handle end stop holding ferrous parts during extended retrieval jobs?

The permanent magnet is rated for a maximum pull of 14 lb; sustained vibration or heavy loads approaching that limit will cause the part to release first.
