Questions about this item

How do I mount the 6in decorative cleat and what step is often missed?

Fix the cleat to a solid wall or post using fasteners suited to the substrate; the step often missed is pre-drilling pilot holes to prevent the teak from splitting.

What maintenance will the teak cleat need over time?

Clean with mild soap and water, then apply a teak oil or sealer annually to preserve colour and protect against UV and salt exposure.

What limit appears first when the cleat is under sustained load?

The holding power of the fasteners in the mounting surface will be reached before the teak itself yields.
