Widia Gtd 15234 Tap Set #6-32 UNC H2 3FL HSS

SKU CH-8YQF-BBBKF

A #6-32 UNC H2 high-speed steel hand tap set with three flutes for threading applications

  • #6-32 UNC thread cuts standard coarse threads
  • H2 thread limit ensures precise class-of-fit control
  • High-speed steel resists wear during repeated tapping
  • Three-flute design clears chips for smoother cuts
  • 11/16 in thread length reaches deeper holes

Widia Gtd 15234 #6-32 UNC Tap Set

This tap set creates internal threads in a #6-32 UNC size using high-speed steel. It suits maintenance and assembly tasks that require right-hand threads with a H2 limit. The three-flute design supports standard hand-tapping operations.

Suited for #6-32 UNC thread repairs

Mechanics and fabricators who need to cut or restore #6-32 UNC threads will find this set matches the required pitch and limit. It is not for jobs needing a different thread diameter, pitch standard, thread limit or left-hand thread direction.

H2 thread limit defines fit tolerance

The H2 limit sets the oversize allowance for the internal thread class of fit. Select this set only when the drawing or specification calls for a #6-32 UNC tap with an H2 limit; a different limit will produce an incorrect fit.

Questions about this item

Does the HSS tap generate much heat when cutting #6-32 threads all day?

High-speed steel runs cooler than carbon steel during extended tapping, and the bright uncoated finish reduces friction on the #6-32 UNC threads.

What drill bit must I already own to prepare holes for this tap set?

The 75 percent thread drill size is 3.1 mm, so a 3.1 mm drill is required before using the #6-32 tap.

Will the 2 in overall length fit the same tap wrench I use for older fractional taps?

The 2 in overall length and standard square shank match common adjustable tap wrenches used for fractional hand taps.
