Straight section wireway for cable runs

The Wiegmann HS442 is a 24 in straight section wireway built from 16 ga steel with a powder-coated gray finish. It carries a NEMA 1 rating and is both UL listed and CSA certified for indoor cable management. The hinged cover uses screw locking to keep conductors secured.

Sustained load behaviour in wireway use

Under continuous operation the steel body maintains its shape and the powder coating resists corrosion in standard indoor environments. The hinged cover stays aligned after repeated opening and the screw locks hold firm without loosening. Knockouts remain clean for repeated cable entry and re-routing.

Replaces open tray or conduit systems

This section upgrades installations that previously used open cable trays or individual conduit runs where a NEMA 1 enclosure is required. The jump is worth it when a project demands a listed, screw-locked raceway with knockout flexibility and a consistent 4 in by 4 in cross-section.

Questions about this item

Does the 16-gauge steel wireway generate any audible noise or heat during continuous use?

The HS442 is a passive steel enclosure with no moving parts, so it produces no noise or heat of its own.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install this 24-inch straight section?

You will need surface-mount fasteners suited to your wall or ceiling material; the wireway provides knockouts but no screws or anchors.

Can the 4-by-4-inch hinged-cover wireway connect directly to older NEMA 1 conduit fittings I already own?

Yes, the CSA-certified, UL-listed section matches standard NEMA 1 dimensions, so it mates with existing compatible fittings.
