Straight Section Wireway 48 in

The Wiegmann HS444NK is a 48 inch straight section wireway built for indoor cable routing. Its 4 by 4 inch cross-section and 16 gauge steel construction suit commercial and light industrial installations. The gray powder coated finish resists corrosion in dry environments. A hinged cover with screw locking allows quick access to enclosed conductors.

NEMA 1 Rating and Knockouts

This wireway carries a NEMA 1 rating, limiting use to indoor locations without exposure to water, oil or dust. The section ships without knockouts, so entry points must be cut on site to match the conduit layout. CSA certification and UL listing confirm compliance with North American safety standards for cable management systems.

Upgrade From Open Tray or Smaller Duct

The enclosed design replaces open cable tray where mechanical protection or a cleaner appearance is required. The 4 by 4 inch profile upgrades from narrower duct when conductor fill demands more cross-sectional area. The jump is worth it when a project specifies NEMA 1 enclosure and screw secured cover retention.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 48 in straight section or a different length for my cable run?

The 48 in straight section covers a four-foot span; choose it when your layout needs that exact length between junctions or enclosures.

What does the NEMA 1 rating mean once the wireway is installed indoors?

NEMA 1 provides basic protection against falling dirt and contact with live parts in dry, indoor locations only.

How does the 16 ga steel construction affect the wireway's rigidity and knock-out options?

The 16 ga steel gives a rigid, screw-covered channel; this model ships without knockouts so you drill entries exactly where required.
