Enclosure for Wall-Mounted Controls

The Wiegmann N412202012C is a carbon-steel electrical enclosure built for wall mounting in industrial settings. Its hinged solid cover uses 1/4-turn semiflush latches for quick, tool-free access while maintaining a tight seal. A poured-in-place polyurethane gasket protects internal components from dust, water and oil ingress. The gray painted finish adds corrosion resistance for long service life.

NEMA 12, 3R, 4 and IP66 Protection Limits

The enclosure meets NEMA 12, 3R and 4 ratings plus IP66, meaning it withstands falling dirt, dripping water, rain, sleet and hose-directed water. It is not rated for submersion or for environments with corrosive agents beyond the painted carbon-steel construction. Installers must ensure cable entries and gland plates preserve the rated seal during wiring.

20 in Height by 12 in Depth Capacity

The 20-inch height and 12-inch depth provide room for terminal blocks, relays and small controllers mounted on the included 2NJ34 interior panel. Fourteen-gauge steel walls give mechanical rigidity for DIN-rail assemblies and moderate component density. Very large power supplies or deep multi-row PLC racks may exceed the available internal volume, requiring a larger enclosure.

Questions about this item

Which enclosure height and depth suit a standard 20-inch panel layout?

The enclosure is 20 inches high and 12 inches deep, matching the N412-C series footprint for the included 2NJ34 interior panel.

What protection does the NEMA 12, 3R, 4 and IP66 rating give once the box is wall-mounted?

The carbon-steel body with poured-in-place polyurethane gasket resists falling dirt, dripping water, hose-directed spray and temporary submersion when latched.

How does the 1/4-turn semiflush latch secure the hinged cover in daily use?

Each latch engages the door flange with a quarter turn, compressing the seamless gasket to maintain the NEMA and IP seals without tools.
