Carbon Steel Enclosure for Industrial Wiring

The Wiegmann N412202012WC is a wall-mount electrical enclosure built from 14 ga carbon steel with a painted gray finish. It measures 20 in tall and 12 in deep, providing a sealed compartment for wireways, terminal blocks or control gear in factories, plants or outdoor infrastructure. The hinged solid cover includes a clear window so operators can inspect status lights without opening the door.

NEMA 12, 13, 3R, 4 and IP66 Rating

The single specification that decides fit is the combined NEMA 12, 13, 3R, 4 and IP66 rating, which certifies protection against falling dirt, circulating dust, lint, water spray, hose-directed water and external ice formation. A poured-in-place foam gasket and 1/4-turn semi-flush latches maintain that seal through vibration and thermal cycling.

Mounting Holes and Interior Panel Options

Pre-drilled mounting holes allow direct attachment to structural steel, concrete or Unistrut without extra brackets. The door hinges on the left and the 1/4-turn latches free up interior width by eliminating protruding handles. Compatible interior panels NP2020C and NP2020CG (sold separately) mount on internal studs to create a backplane for DIN rail, relays or PLC modules.

Questions about this item

What does the IP66 rating mean for this enclosure once it is installed?

IP66 means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets, so internal components stay clean and dry in wash-down or outdoor environments.

How does the NEMA 12, 13, 3R, 4 rating limit where this box can be used?

Those NEMA ratings certify the enclosure for indoor and outdoor use against falling dirt, dripping water, hose-directed water, and oil or coolant seepage, but not for submersion or corrosive atmospheres.

What mounting holes or hardware are needed to fit this 20 in by 12 in carbon-steel enclosure?

The enclosure includes pre-drilled mounting holes for wall mounting; use bolts or lag screws sized for the hole pattern and the 14-gauge steel thickness.
