Carbon-steel enclosure for industrial controls

The Wiegmann N412303012C is a 30 in tall, 12 in deep carbon-steel enclosure rated NEMA 12, 13, 3R and 4 with an IP66 rating. It uses a solid hinged cover secured by 1/4-turn semi-flush latches and a poured-in-place foam gasket. The 14-gauge body includes mounting holes for wall installation and ships with interior panel 2NJ44. Gray painted finish protects the steel in harsh environments.

Replaces open or lower-rated cabinets

This enclosure upgrades from boxes that carry only NEMA 1 or 12 ratings when the application demands NEMA 4 and IP66 ingress protection. The jump is worth it where wash-down, oil spray or outdoor driven rain are present and a standard gasketed door cannot maintain a seal. The 1/4-turn latch system also cuts service time compared with bolted or screw-fastened covers.

Fits wall-mounted control builds

The unit mounts directly to a flat surface using the integral mounting holes and accepts the included 2NJ44 interior panel for DIN-rail or component mounting. Its 30 in height and 12 in depth accommodate multiple rows of terminal blocks, relays or small drives while the solid cover keeps debris off internal wiring. The seamless foam-in-place gasket eliminates a separate gasket kit and the painted gray finish resists corrosion without extra coating steps.

Questions about this item

Will the 30 in by 12 in carbon-steel body fit on standard wall-mount brackets?

The enclosure has pre-drilled mounting holes on the back for direct wall mounting; use hardware rated for the 14 ga steel weight.

How do the 1/4-turn latches engage, and what step do installers often miss?

Turn each latch a quarter-turn until it seats against the poured-in-place gasket; the frequent mistake is not pressing the door fully closed before latching, which prevents a seal.

What gasket upkeep does the NEMA 12, 13, 3R, 4 and IP66 seal require over time?

Inspect the seamless foam-in-place gasket during routine checks; replace the door seal if compression set or cracking appears to maintain the rated protection.
