Galvanised steel enclosure, 18 in high

This Wiegmann enclosure is a NEMA 3R rated galvanised steel box designed for wall-mounted electrical installations. It measures 18 inches high, 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep with a usable opening depth of 5.88 inches. The 16-gauge construction includes a screw-on solid cover with a padlockable hasp handle. It carries CSA, cULus and UL listings.

Suits outdoor or damp locations needing lockable

The NEMA 3R rating and padlockable hasp make this enclosure suitable for outdoor or wash-down environments where security against unauthorised opening is required. Installers who need a transparent cover, a different NEMA rating such as 4 or 4X, or a larger internal volume should consider other models. The fixed 12-inch width and 6-inch depth limit the space available for bulky components or extensive wiring.

16-gauge galvanised steel with NEMA 3R rating

The single specification that decides suitability is the 16-gauge galvanised steel body carrying a NEMA 3R rating. This combination provides protection against falling rain, sleet and external ice formation while the galvanised finish resists corrosion. If the installation demands a heavier gauge, a stainless-steel body or a higher ingress-protection rating, this enclosure will not meet those requirements.
