Thread adapter for microphone poles

The WindTech Extension Pole Adapter connects a 3/4"-5 female thread to a 5/8"-27 male thread. It allows a standard microphone clip or shock mount to attach securely to a boom pole or extension pole. The adapter suits location sound recordists and broadcast professionals who need reliable rigging on set.

Lightweight metal construction runs cool and silent

The all-metal body adds negligible mass to the pole and generates no heat or electronic noise during use. There are no moving parts or active components to draw power. The simple mechanical joint maintains alignment without maintenance.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 3/4"-5 female end of the WindTech PPA-01 adapter to my extension pole without cross-threading?

Align the adapter's female threads with the pole's male 3/4"-5 threads, turn by hand until snug, then finish with a strap wrench — avoid power tools to prevent stripping the Acme thread profile.

Will the 5/8"-27 male threads on the adapter wear out from frequent microphone changes, and can they be replaced?

The 5/8"-27 male threads are machined into the adapter body and cannot be replaced separately; inspect for burrs before each use and apply a drop of thread lubricant if engagement feels gritty.
