What this cable delivers

The WISDUM USB4 cable carries 40 Gbps of data, supplies up to 100 W of power at 20 V and 5 A, and drives a single 5K display at 60 Hz or two 4K displays simultaneously. It is built for users who connect high-resolution monitors, external GPUs or fast storage to a USB-C port.

Check your host and display

Verify that the source device supports USB4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 video-out and that the monitor accepts DisplayPort alt-mode over USB-C. The cable is backward compatible with USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0, but full bandwidth and 5K output require a host controller that implements the USB4 or Thunderbolt specification.

Thermals, noise and power

Passive construction means no fan noise and no active cooling to fail. The aluminium housings and braided jacket dissipate heat from the 100 W power path during sustained charging or data loads. Normal use stays within the cable’s rated thermal envelope without throttle or audible artefacts.

Questions about this item

Does the box include only the 5 ft USB-C to USB-C cable or are any adapters bundled?

The package contains one 5 ft USB4 C-to-C cable rated for 40 Gbps data and 100 W power delivery; no adapters or extra accessories are included.

Should I choose this 40 Gbps model or a lower-speed cable for a Thunderbolt 3 dock that drives dual 4K monitors?

Select this 40 Gbps cable because it carries the full Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth needed for dual 4K at 60 Hz and 100 W charging simultaneously.

Will the 40 Gbps rating actually deliver 5K at 60 Hz and 100 W charging when plugged into a MacBook and eGPU?

Yes — the E-marked cable supports 40 Gbps data, DisplayPort Alt Mode for 5K at 60 Hz or dual 4K, and USB Power Delivery up to 100 W at 20 V/5 A.
