Nail Chipper Duo Auger

The WoodOwl 00515 is a pneumatic accessory built for professionals who drill through nail-embedded studs and framework. Its double-cut design chips away fasteners while leaving a cleaner hole for conduit and wiring runs.

Upgrade from traditional ship augers

This bit replaces standard auger bits that bind or kick back when they strike hidden nails. The jump is worth it when you regularly encounter fasteners in renovation or remodel work and need to protect both the tool and the operator.

7/16 quick-change shank fits common drills

Installation is a simple chuck swap on any compatible 7/16 quick-change drive. The lightweight build reduces strain on cordless tools, and the cutting edges can be resharpened when they dull. California Proposition 65 warnings apply.

Questions about this item

What shank size does the 7.5" OAL auger need for the quick-change chuck?

The bit uses a 7/16 quick-change shank that locks directly into a compatible impact driver or drill chuck without an adapter.

How do you install the bit so the double-cut design engages nails cleanly?

Insert the shank until it clicks, then start the hole at low speed; letting the twin cutting lips contact the fastener first prevents the kick-back common with single-flute augers.

When the cutting edges dull, how is the Duo Auger restored?

Both cutting lips can be hand-filed or bench-ground using the same angle as the original grind; the tool steel takes a keen edge quickly and returns to full nail-chipping performance.
