Certified Thunderbolt 4 cable for high-speed

This Thunderbolt 4 cable carries certification and delivers 40 Gb/s data transfer with 240 W power charging. The .5 metre length suits desktop setups where devices sit close together. It connects Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 hosts and peripherals using USB C male-to-male connectors.

Sustained 40 Gb/s throughput with 240 W charging

The cable maintains full 40 Gb/s bandwidth under continuous load rather than only in short bursts. It supports 240 W power delivery, exceeding earlier 60 W and 100 W limits, so demanding peripherals charge at full speed throughout long sessions. Backward compatibility covers USB 3.2, 3.1 and 2.0 speeds without signal degradation.

Verify DisplayPort Alt Mode and port capabilities

Before ordering, confirm that your USB C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode if you plan to drive an 8K@60 Hz, 5K@60 Hz or dual 4K@60 Hz display. The cable works with MacBook Pro, iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook Air and Windows Thunderbolt 3 or 4 laptops, but video output requires Alt Mode support on the host port. Buyers needing longer reach or non-Thunderbolt USB-C only charging should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Does the 0.5 m Thunderbolt 4 cable get warm when delivering 240 W continuously?

The cable is rated for 240 W power delivery and Thunderbolt 4 certification, so it handles sustained high-wattage charging without overheating under normal use.

What must my laptop or dock provide for the cable to deliver 240 W charging?

The host device needs a USB-C port that supports USB Power Delivery up to 240 W; the cable itself is a passive male-to-male USB-C to USB-C link.

Will this cable run at 40 Gbps when plugged into a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port?

No, the connection will fall back to the port's maximum speed — USB 3.2 Gen 2 tops out at 10 Gbps — while still carrying power and video if the port supports Alt Mode.
