What this cable does

This USB4 cable carries 40Gbps data, 8K video at 60Hz and up to 100W power delivery through a USB-C to USB-C connection. It suits professionals who need full-speed Thunderbolt 3 performance and fast charging for laptops such as MacBook Pro or iPad Pro.

Installation and common issues

Plug the reversible male connectors into any USB-C port; the cable works bi-directionally with no driver installation. The main limitation is that both host and peripheral must support 40Gbps to reach the rated speed, and dual 4K displays require two separate cables.

The deciding specification

The cable is certified for USB4 Gen 3x2 at 40Gbps, which is the single figure that determines whether it will deliver Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth and 8K@60Hz video on your device.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the cable is delivering the full 40Gbps data rate after connecting it?

The connected host and peripheral must both support 40Gbps; the cable itself is rated for that speed and is Thunderbolt 3 compatible.

What comes in the box and do I need a separate charger for 100W power delivery?

The package contains the 1.6ft USB C to USB C cable only; a compatible PD 3.1 charger capable of 20V/5A must be purchased separately to reach 100W.

Which version should I choose if I need 8K@60Hz video and 100W charging for a MacBook Pro?

This single model provides USB4 Gen 3x2 with 40Gbps bandwidth, 8K@60Hz display support and up to 100W (20V/5A) charging for MacBook Pro.
