PoE detector and tester kit Gen2.5
This kit combines a PoE detector and a PoE tester for wired network cable troubleshooting. It is designed for technicians who install or maintain powered devices such as cameras, wireless access points, tablets and IP phones. Both tools draw power directly from the Ethernet line so no batteries are required. The compact, ergonomic shape lets you hold either device between two fingers while working on a ladder or in tight spaces.
Detector identifies PoE type
The detector instantly recognises IEEE 802.3 af, IEEE 802.3 at, 24 Volt Passive and Reverse Polarity Mode B for Cambium and Canopy equipment. A reference chart on the back of the detector provides quick visual confirmation. The tester measures DC supply voltages from 3.5 to 56 volts and current up to 280 watts at 56 volts, displaying both Mode A and Mode B from 20 to 56 volts. This removes guesswork when verifying power delivery before connecting expensive endpoints.
Plug into the line and read the LEDs
Installation is as simple as inserting the detector or tester inline with the Cat5 or Cat6 cable; the bright LED indicators light immediately to show voltage presence and PoE class. Because the units are powered by the line itself, there is no separate charging step or battery compartment to manage. The only common issue is attempting to test a completely dead circuit where no voltage is present to illuminate the LEDs.

Questions about this item
Will the LED indicators on the PoE Detector need replacement after extended use?
The detector draws power from the network line with no internal battery, so the LEDs have no separate power source to maintain or replace.
What is the maximum power the PoE Tester can measure before reaching its limit?
The tester measures DC power supply up to 280 watts at 56 volts, which is the highest power reading it supports.
How much heat does the kit generate when left connected to a live PoE line all day?
Both devices are powered solely by the Ethernet line they are testing, so they add no extra heat beyond the normal PoE power draw.
