Classroom Electric Sharpener

The X-Acto 1670X is a mains-powered pencil sharpener built for daily classroom use. Its flyaway helical cutter produces a sharp, rounded graphite point and stops automatically when the pencil is ready. Safe Start technology prevents the motor running if the shavings receptacle is removed. The unit adjusts to six pencil sizes and weighs 1.88 kilograms.

Teachers and high-volume users

Suits teachers, students and offices that sharpen many graphite pencils each day and need quiet, consistent results with minimal supervision. Not for artists who require adjustable point angles or the ability to sharpen charcoal, pastel or coloured cores. Buyers wanting a battery-powered or handheld device should look elsewhere.

Helical cutter with auto-stop

The flyaway helical cutter is the single feature that determines suitability: it sharpens to a safe, rounded tip and halts automatically to prevent over-sharpening. If your workflow demands a different tip profile or manual control over the sharpening cycle, this mechanism will not meet that need.
