What this 12-pack supplies

This 12-pack delivers twelve Xeno Energy XL-050F cells rated at 3.6 volts and 1.2 ampere-hours. They suit equipment that requires a 1/2 AA lithium thionyl chloride power source with a button-top termination.

What the bundle changes

Buying the cells in a 12-count pack keeps spares on hand for field replacements or multi-node deployments without opening multiple retail packages. The long shelf life of over 10 years means stored units stay ready for future maintenance cycles.

Installing and common issues

Each cell measures 14.5 millimetres in diameter and 25.2 millimetres in height, so it fits standard 1/2 AA holders. The chemistry is not rechargeable; attempting to recharge creates a safety hazard. Observe correct polarity and the 30 milliampere continuous current limit to avoid damage.

Questions about this item

How long can the Xeno XL-050F batteries stay in storage before they need replacing?

Shelf life is rated at 10+ years with less than 1% capacity loss per year at 20°C, so a 12-pack can be kept as spares for a decade without significant degradation.

What continuous current limit will the XL-050F hit first during sustained use?

The maximum recommended continuous current is 30 mA; drawing more will reduce capacity and can trigger the 60 mA pulse limit sooner.

How much heat does the 1/2 AA lithium thionyl chloride chemistry generate when run all day at its rated load?

At the 30 mA continuous rating the cell operates across -55°C to +85°C without active cooling, and the non-pressurised inorganic electrolyte stays non-flammable at ambient temperature.
