Detection Depth and Rating

The Xiutantxmd DS-2 pinpointer is a handheld metal detector built for treasure hunting in wet or dry conditions. Its IP68 rating allows full submersion up to 30 minutes while the 11 inch maximum detection depth covers coins and small relics.

Sensitivity and Alerts

Three adjustable sensitivity levels let the user match the device to soil conditions and target size. A one‑button control switches modes and powers the unit on or off with audible and vibration confirmation.

Anti‑Loss and Accessories

If the pinpointer stays still for over one minute it vibrates and sounds to help you find it. The package includes a green detector, belt holster, retractable hanging wire, 9V battery and operation manual.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 9V battery and what step do people often miss?

Open the battery back cover, insert the included 9V battery observing polarity, then tighten the cover fully to keep the IP68 seal intact — the step most skip.

What maintenance will the DS-2 pinpointer need over time?

Replace the 9V battery when audio or vibration weakens; rinse with fresh water after saltwater or mud use and check the cover threads for grit to maintain the IP68 rating.

What is the first detection limit I will hit during a long hunt?

Maximum depth reaches 11 inches (30 cm) for larger targets and 7 cm for coins; beyond that the signal drops off regardless of the three sensitivity settings.
