USB 3.0 cable with panel-mount Micro B
This xiwai cable connects a USB 3.0 Type-A host to a Micro USB 3.0 Type-B device such as an external hard drive or mobile phone. The 120 cm length suits desktop or bench use. The Micro B plug includes two M2 panel-mount screws so the connector can be secured to an enclosure or bracket, preventing accidental disconnection during vibration or movement.
Sustained throughput up to 4.8 Gbps
When both host and device support USB 3.0 the link runs at up to 4.8 Gbps, ten times the 480 Mbps ceiling of USB 2.0. The cable remains backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts and devices, falling back to their lower speeds automatically. No active circuitry is described, so performance depends on the quality of the connected ports and the total cable length in the chain.
Simple screw-on installation
Plug the Type-A end into the host and the Micro B end into the device, then tighten the two M2 screws into the panel threads to lock the connector in place. The only common issue is thread mismatch: the screws are M2, so the mounting holes must be tapped for that size. If the panel uses a different thread the screws will not engage and the strain-relief benefit is lost.

Questions about this item
Does the 120cm cable generate noticeable heat or draw extra power during all-day transfers at 4.8Gbps?
The cable is passive and carries only the power the host and device negotiate; it adds no active circuitry that would produce heat or increase draw beyond the USB 3.0 specification.
What must the host and device each provide for the Micro B end with M2 mount screws to work?
The host needs a standard USB 3.0 Type-A port and the device needs a Micro USB 3.0 Type-B receptacle with matching M2 mounting holes.
Will the 1.2m length and M2 screws fit a legacy USB 2.0 external drive that only has a plain Micro B port?
The cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1, but the M2 screws require a device chassis that has threaded mounting holes; a plain Micro B port will not accept them.
