XPG SX6000 M.2 2280 512GB SSD

The XPG SX6000 is a desktop solid-state drive built in the M.2 2280 form factor with a 512GB capacity. It suits PC builders and upgraders who want faster boot times and application loading compared to mechanical hard drives. The drive installs directly into a compatible motherboard slot without cables.

Upgrade from mechanical hard drives

This SSD replaces a traditional 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drive as the primary system or storage volume. The jump is worth it when the system supports an M.2 2280 slot and the user needs lower latency and higher sequential throughput for everyday workloads. It is not for buyers who require capacities beyond 512GB or systems lacking an M.2 2280 interface.

Questions about this item

What physical dimensions must the drive bay or slot accommodate for this XPG SX6000 512GB unit?

The drive uses the M.2 2280 form factor, so the slot must accept a module 22 millimetres wide and 80 millimetres long.

How is the XPG SX6000 512GB installed, and which step is most often missed?

Insert the M.2 2280 module at an angle into the keyed slot, press it flat, and secure it with the single mounting screw; the step most often missed is fitting that screw, leaving the drive unsecured.
