Product identity and intended use

The Yale 112-1-4F is a heavy-duty double cylinder rim door lock finished in sprayed bronze. It is designed for out-swinging doors fitted with a large deadbolt latchbolt and a standard flat strike. Both the exterior and interior sides are operated by a key, providing keyed access from either side.

Upgrade path from single-cylinder rim locks

This lock replaces a single-cylinder rim lock when keyed entry is required on the interior side as well as the exterior. The change is worth it for doors where a thumb-turn would allow unwanted access through adjacent glazing or where building codes mandate double-cylinder operation. The 5-pin Yale brass cylinder with anti-pick mushroom drivers (1109E) upgrades the pick resistance compared with simpler cylinders.

Suitable users and limitations

The lock suits property owners who need keyed security on both faces of an out-swinging door with a 1-1/8" throw and 2-3/8" backset, and whose door thickness falls between 1-1/4" and 2-1/4". It is not for buyers who want a thumb-turn inside, for doors that require a different backset or strike style, or for installations where single-cylinder egress is preferred or required by local regulation.
