Double-cylinder deadbolt for keyed both sides
This Yale deadbolt uses a double-cylinder design so a key is required to lock or unlock from either side of the door. It fits standard 2-3/4 inch backset preparations on wood or steel doors between 1-3/8 and 1-3/4 inches thick. The satin-chrome finish matches common commercial hardware and the lock carries a Grade 2 ANSI/BHMA 156.36 rating. Two keys are supplied keyed different for individual access control.
Three-hour fire rating and Grade 2 durability
The lockset is UL and ULC listed with a three-hour fire rating, meaning it maintains integrity during extended fire exposure rather than just a brief test. Grade 2 construction meets commercial-duty cycle requirements for high-traffic openings. Six-pin Para keyway cylinders resist picking while the one-inch throw bolt engages deeply into the supplied 1-1/8 by 2-3/4 inch strike. No ligature-resistant features are included.
Straightforward retrofit on prepped doors
Installation uses the standard cylindrical cut-out and faceplate dimensions of 1 by 2-1/4 inches, so it drops into existing Grade 2 door preparations without new drilling. The double cylinder requires a key on the interior side, which can conflict with fire-code egress rules for residential bedrooms or exits. Verify local regulations before fitting. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to materials in the lock.

Questions about this item
How much noise, heat or power does the double-cylinder deadbolt generate when it is locked all day?
The deadbolt is a purely mechanical lock with no motor or electronics, so it produces no noise, heat or power draw while engaged.
What door preparation must already exist for this deadbolt to fit?
The lock requires a 2 3/4 in backset, a 1 in x 2-1/4 in faceplate cut-out, a 1-1/8 in x 2-3/4 in strike mortise and a door thickness between 1 3/8 in and 1 3/4 in.
Will the ANSI/BHMA A 156.36 Grade 2 deadbolt work with my existing Para keyway keys?
This lock uses a Para keyway and is supplied keyed different, so existing Para keys will not operate it unless a locksmith re-pins the cylinder to match.
