Product Identity

The Yescom USA 33HEL006-205M-HGB is a DOT-218 approved half-face motorcycle helmet finished in gloss black. It suits cruiser, chopper and scooter riders who prefer a retro German silhouette with an open-face feel.

Deciding Specification

The helmet carries a DOT FMVSS-218 safety rating and weighs 2.4 Lbs, making the certification and lightweight ABS shell the primary factors for riders choosing this model.

Installation Reality

An adjustable chin strap with a quick-release buckle allows the helmet to be secured or removed in seconds. The most common issue is incorrect sizing; buyers must measure head circumference before ordering because the medium shell cannot be adjusted for fit.

Questions about this item

What protection does the DOT 218 rating actually give me on the road?

The helmet meets DOT FMVSS-218, meaning its impact-resistant ABS shell and high-density EPS foam are tested to absorb shock and reduce head injury in a crash.

How does the DOT certification limit the helmet's design and use?

DOT FMVSS-218 sets minimum impact and penetration standards; the half-face shell leaves the face exposed, so it cannot protect the chin or jaw like a full-face design.

What do I need to check so the medium size fits and stays on?

Measure your head circumference first; the medium shell weighs 2.4 lbs and uses an adjustable chin strap with a quick-release buckle to secure the fit.
