Protective Layer for Low-Pile Carpet

This two-pack of clear PVC chair mats shields low-pile carpet from wheel scratches, scuffs and dirt. Each mat measures 48 by 36 inches with a 1/8-inch lip that extends under the desk edge. The transparent design lets the carpet pattern show through while the material passes phthalate, BPA, cadmium, tin and lead safety tests.

Studded Grip and Frosted Surface Limits

The studded underside grips low-pile carpet firmly but is not designed for thick pile, hard floors or heated flooring. The frosted top adds traction for caster wheels yet can feel slick with soft rubber wheels or when wet. PVC construction resists wear and tear but will dent under heavy stationary loads such as filing cabinets.

Check Carpet Pile and Desk Clearance

Verify that your carpet is low-pile so the studs can anchor the mat without slipping. Measure the desk footprint to ensure the 48 by 36 inch dimensions plus the lip fit the workspace. Confirm the floor is level and free of debris before unrolling, and allow the material to flatten fully at room temperature for best adhesion.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 48" x 36" size with 1/8" lip for my low-pile carpet?

Yes — the mat is sized 48" by 36" with a 1/8" lip and is designed for low-pile carpet, so it matches that specification directly.

How does the 1/8" thickness hold up under a rolling office chair?

The 1/8" PVC sheet resists wear and tear, while the studded back grips the carpet and the frosted top gives wheels traction without cracking.

What does the studded back and frosted top mean for daily movement?

The studded bottom anchors the mat on carpet and the frosted upper surface adds grip so wheels roll smoothly without the mat sliding.
