2.5-inch USB 2.0 Enclosure for Laptop Drives

This aluminium case turns a 2.5 inch hard drive into an external USB 2.0 storage device. It works with Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10 on PCs, laptops and TVs. No drivers are required for basic operation.

Plug-and-Play Simplicity with Tool-Free Swaps

The enclosure connects instantly without installing software. Its slide-open design lets you insert or remove a drive in seconds, making drive swaps straightforward for backups or data migration.

For USB 2.0 Ports and Mechanical 2.5-inch Drives

Buyers with only USB 2.0 ports and a spare laptop hard drive will find this a low-cost way to add external storage. Users who need faster transfer rates or want to use M.2 or 3.5-inch drives should look at other enclosures.

Questions about this item

Will the aluminium case need any maintenance over time?

The aluminium alloy case is passive and has no moving parts, so it requires no routine maintenance beyond keeping the USB 2.0 connector clean.

What limits transfer speed during long copy sessions?

The USB 2.0 interface caps sustained throughput, so large batches of photos or videos will move at that rate regardless of the drive installed.

Does the enclosure get hot or noisy when running all day?

The metal body acts as a heatsink for the 2.5 inch drive and there is no fan, so it stays silent and warm to the touch under continuous use.
