Biometric fingerprint reader for access control
The 5YBF211A uses an optical sensor rated at 500DP to verify fingerprints and supports 125Khz EM4100 RFID cards as an alternative credential. It stores up to 800 fingerprint templates and 50,000 event records on the device. A 2.4 inch TFT colour screen with 320 by 240 resolution provides a local menu in English, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic or German. The unit runs on an ARM926EJ CPU clocked up to 200MHz.
Network connectivity and power draw
Communication options include TCP/IP, RS485 and a USB memory disk port for offline data transfer. The device supports LAN and WAN links so management software can reach it across different networks, and it uses UDP push technology to send attendance records in real time. A built-in timing bell is included and an external bell can also be connected. Operating modes cover both standalone and online use.
Wiegand output and door hardware interface
The reader provides Wiegand 26 and 34 output for integration with third-party controllers. On-board access control interfaces drive a door lock, a siren and an exit button directly. Free management software is supplied on CD and runs on Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 7 and 8 in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Buyers who need wireless connectivity or battery backup will not find those features on this model.

Questions about this item
How do I wire the Wiegand 26/34 interface and the exit button during installation?
Connect the Wiegand 26/34 output to your controller's matching input, then wire the exit button to the dedicated exit button terminal; the step often missed is linking the door lock relay and siren terminals so the device can actually release the latch and trigger alarms.
Which components will need replacement after heavy daily use?
The optical fingerprint sensor rated at 500 DPI and the 125 kHz EM4100 RFID reader are the primary wear items; the sensor window should be cleaned regularly and the reader coil may degrade after years of high-volume scans.
What is the first limit reached during continuous operation?
The transaction log fills at 50,000 records, so sustained high-traffic use will hit the storage ceiling before the 800-user fingerprint database or the 200 MHz ARM9 processor becomes a bottleneck.
