DX5 Print Head Cable 34.9 cm

This flat flexible cable replaces the original data link for Epson DX5 print heads. It fits the 7400 7450 7800 7880 9400 9450 9800 and 9880 wide-format printers. Technicians use it when the existing ribbon is damaged or worn. The part restores the signal path between the head and the main board.

Length constraint and compatibility limit

The cable measures 34.9 cm so it only suits printers designed for that exact reach. It cannot be extended or coiled without risking signal loss. Buyers needing a longer or shorter ribbon must source a different part number. The component is a passive replacement and does not upgrade print speed or resolution.

Questions about this item

Will this 34.9cm FFC cable reach the DX5 print head on my Epson 7800 without stretching?

The cable measures 34.9cm and is listed as a direct fit for the Epson 7800, so it should connect the DX5 head to the mainboard at the original routing length.

How can I verify the DX5 cable is seated correctly after installation?

Power on the printer and run a nozzle check; a clean test pattern with no missing lines confirms the FFC is making full contact at both the print head and mainboard connectors.
