Questions about this item

How often should I clean the encoder strip on my XP-510 printer?

Clean the strip gently with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol whenever print alignment drifts or the printer reports an encoder error; no fixed interval is required.

What causes the encoder strip on an XP-821 to fail first during heavy printing?

Repeated friction from the printhead carriage and accumulation of ink mist or dust on the 47.1 cm strip degrade the timing marks, leading to position errors.
