Encoder Strip for Epson WF-4740 Series

This encoder strip is a replacement printhead component designed for specific Epson WorkForce printers. It fits the WF-4740, EC-4030, WF-4838, WF-4734, WF-4725 and WF-4270 models. The part restores accurate printhead positioning when the original strip is damaged or contaminated. It is intended for users repairing a compatible printer rather than upgrading a working unit.

Compatibility Limited to Listed WorkForce Models

The strip only functions with the six printer models identified in the product data. It will not fit other Epson series such as Expression, EcoTank or SureColor devices. Buyers must verify their exact model number before ordering to avoid a mismatch. No other specifications differentiate this part.

Questions about this item

How does the encoder strip affect print alignment on the WF-4740?

The encoder strip provides the positional reference that lets the printhead track its exact location across the page; a damaged or dirty strip causes misaligned or garbled output.

What connection does the encoder strip use on the EC-4030?

It is a passive plastic film with timing marks that sits in a fixed carrier and is read optically by the printhead sensor; there is no electrical connector or data interface.
