Dual-protocol M.2 enclosure with 2 TB ceiling
This USB-C enclosure accepts M.2 SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes using either M-key or B+M-key pinouts. The RTL9210B controller handles both NVMe and SATA protocols automatically. An aluminium shell spreads heat from the drive during operation. No driver installation is required on supported systems.
Check drive keying and cable choice before ordering
Verify that your SSD uses an M-key or B+M-key edge connector; other key types will not fit. The package supplies both a USB-C-to-A and a USB-C-to-C cable, so confirm which host port you will use. The enclosure tops out at 2 TB, so larger drives cannot be addressed. No external power adapter is included or required.
Aluminium body sustains throughput under load
The metal casing acts as a heatsink, keeping the controller and NAND cooler during long sequential transfers than plastic alternatives. Thermal throttling is therefore reduced during extended backups or video offloads. Performance scales with the host USB-C port speed and the installed drive’s own limits. The enclosure adds no active cooling or fan noise.

Questions about this item
Does the enclosure ship with an SSD or must I buy one separately?
The enclosure is sold without an SSD; you need to supply your own M.2 drive in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 form factor.
Which M.2 lengths does this case accept?
It fits 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 modules using M Key or B+M Key sockets.
What real-world speed can I expect from the RTL9210B controller over USB-C?
The RTL9210B bridges Sata or Nvme drives to USB 3.1 Gen 2, so throughput is limited by the drive and the USB link rather than the enclosure itself.
