Practical limits of USB full speed and ISO 14443A

The USB full speed interface caps data throughput at 12 Mbit/s, so bulk card enrolment is slower than high-speed alternatives. Power comes from the 5 V DC bus at up to 200 mA, requiring no external supply. Only ISO 14443A compatible tags at 13.56 MHz are supported; other frequencies or proprietary protocols will not work. The reader must sit within a few centimetres of the card for reliable coupling.
