Replacement Cable for P400–P408 Printers

This YINGHUA print head cable is a new replacement part compatible with Forepson models P400, P403, P405, P406, P407 and P408. It restores the connection between the print head and the mainboard when the original cable is damaged or worn. Buyers needing a different connector type or a longer harness will need another part.

Passive Component — No Thermals or Power Draw

The cable carries only low-voltage signals and draws no measurable power of its own. It generates no heat and produces no noise during printing. Installation requires only routing the flex through the existing cable path; no external power supply or cooling is involved.

Questions about this item

How is the cable routed through the carriage on a P400 without pinching the ribbon?

Feed the flat ribbon along the guide channel, then lock the ZIF connector before tightening the carriage screws; the step most people skip is checking that the latch clicks fully shut.

When should the print-head cable on a P407 be replaced?

Replace it if the ribbon shows creases, the gold contacts are oxidised, or the printer reports a head-connection error after reseating.
