Replacement Printhead QY6-0078

The YINGHUA QY6-0078 printhead serves as a direct replacement for compatible Canon PIXMA printers. It restores print quality for models including the MP996, MG6120, MG6140, MG6150, MG6200, MG6230, MG6260, MP6220, MG8170, MG8250 and MG8270. Buyers with unsupported printer models will need a different part number.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

As a passive ink-delivery component, the printhead generates no operational noise and draws negligible power from the printer. It contains no fans, heat sinks or moving parts that would affect system acoustics or thermal load. Thermal management is handled entirely by the host printer during standard printing tasks.

Questions about this item

How do I install the QY6-0078 printhead in my MG6120 without triggering an alignment error?

Power on the MG6120, open the cover, wait for the carriage to centre, lift the lock lever, insert the QY6-0078 until it clicks, lower the lever, close the cover, then run the automatic head alignment from the maintenance menu before printing.

When should I expect to replace the QY6-0078 printhead in an MP996 used for daily photo printing?

The QY6-0078 in an MP996 typically lasts until print quality degrades despite deep cleaning cycles; heavy photo use often reaches that point after several thousand full-colour pages.
