Replacement Tray Clip for Brother Printers

This new tray clip fits a wide range of Brother inkjet models including the 440, 465, 540, 560, 660, 665, 680, 685, 750, 770, 845 and 885 series. It restores the paper-tray latch so the tray stays closed during printing and scanning operations. The part is designed for users who need to replace a broken or missing clip on a compatible device. It is not suited for printers outside the listed model families or for laser-based machines.

Simple Mechanical Fix Restores Tray Function

Installing the clip re-engages the tray catch, preventing misfeeds and paper jams caused by a loose tray. No additional tools, software or firmware updates are required to complete the repair. The component addresses only the physical latch mechanism and does not affect print quality, ink delivery or scanner calibration. Buyers who need a complete tray assembly or electronic sensor parts will not find them in this single-piece package.

Questions about this item

How often will the tray clip need replacing on a Brother 750CN?

The clip is a mechanical latch; replace it only if the tab breaks or the spring loses tension.

What fails first when the printer runs long print jobs on a Brother 845CW?

The clip itself does not degrade from heat or duty cycle; failure comes from physical snapping during paper loading.
