Converts 2010-2011 MacBook Air proprietary SSDs to external USB 3.0 storage
This aluminium case converts the proprietary 6+12-pin SSD modules from MacBook Air models A1369 and A1370 into an external USB 3.0 drive. It supports the original 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities shipped in those machines. The enclosure is powered entirely through the USB connection and includes a USB 3.0 data cable.
The adapter fits the exact SSD modules used in part numbers MC503, MC505, MC506, MC965, MC968 and MC969. It will not accept M.2, mSATA or 2.5-inch drives, nor does it work with MacBook Air models released before 2010 or after 2011. Buyers needing a universal enclosure for other SSD form factors should look elsewhere.
The single specification that decides compatibility is the 6+12-pin interface found only on the factory SSDs for the listed MacBook Air generations. If the drive you removed from the laptop matches that pin layout, the enclosure will recognise it; otherwise it will not fit.

The enclosure holds the bare 6+12-pin SSD from 2010-2011 MacBook Air models A1369 and A1370 without extra brackets; just slide the drive in and close the metal shell.
Insert the SSD fully until the 6+12-pin connector seats firmly, then plug the supplied USB 3.0 cable into the case before connecting to the computer; reversing the order can leave the drive undetected.
The USB 3.0 port and cable are rated for thousands of insertions; only the cable might need replacing if the connector loosens after heavy use.
