YOCNSPROT Salt Water Lamp Y0921 Green 288 h

Salt Water Lamp Y0921 Green

The YOCNSPROT Y0921 is a battery-free emergency lantern that generates electricity from salt and water, including seawater or urine. It targets campers, anglers and households preparing for power outages who want a light source that does not rely on disposable cells or recharging.

Practical limits of salt water power

The lamp produces 0.5 W from three 50 lumen LEDs driven at 100 mA, so brightness is modest compared with battery lanterns. Continuous runtime reaches 288 hours while intermittent use extends to 400 hours, but output drops as the electrolyte depletes and the unit cannot be topped up without fresh salt and water. Operation is only guaranteed above -10 °C or 14 °F.

Setup and common issues

To start, open the seal, add 15 to 40 grams of salt, fill water to the marked line, reseal, shake and wait 15 seconds before switching on. The zipper seal must be fully closed and the bag kept upright, otherwise the electrolyte leaks and the circuit fails. No salt is included and the used liquid is non-toxic but not potable.
