Personal cloud storage enclosure

The Yottamaster DM1 is a single-bay network-attached storage enclosure built for a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD up to 15 mm thick. It runs Weline OS on an ARM quad-core processor with 1 GB DDR4 RAM and 8 GB eMMC flash, providing a private cloud without subscription fees. A 1 GbE Ethernet port and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C at 5 Gbps handle network and direct-attached connections.

Home users wanting simple remote access

The device suits individuals or families who want to store photos, videos and documents on their own hardware and reach them from phones or PCs via the Weline app, Samba or DLNA. An encrypted SDVN VPN channel links devices directly to the NAS without routing traffic through an external server. Buyers needing multi-bay redundancy, 10 GbE throughput or rack-mount form factors should look elsewhere.

Maximum single-drive capacity of 20 TB

The enclosure accepts one 3.5-inch SATA drive up to 20 TB, which sets the total raw storage ceiling. Drives larger than 20 TB are not supported, and the single-bay design means there is no internal RAID option. External USB storage can be added through the Type-C port for extra capacity.

Questions about this item

Does the fanless Yottamaster DM1 stay cool during continuous operation?

The enclosure has no fan and relies on its aluminum and plastic chassis to dissipate heat from the 3.5-inch SATA drive and ARM quad-core processor during all-day use.

What must I already own to use the Yottamaster DM1 as a NAS?

You need a 3.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD up to 15 mm thick and a router or switch with a free 1 GbE port for network connectivity.

Can the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port on the Yottamaster DM1 connect my older USB 3.0 external drives?

Yes, the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C interface runs at 5 Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 storage devices for expansion.
