10-port Gigabit switch for small networks

The YuLinca G082E provides ten RJ45 ports operating at 10/100/1000 Mbps, with eight standard ports and two uplink ports. It is an unmanaged, fanless metal unit designed for desktop or wall mounting in home, office or small business environments. No configuration is required beyond connecting power and network cables.

Uplink limit and VLAN isolation

Only ports 9 and 10 serve as uplinks, so traffic from the eight isolated ports must pass through those two 1 Gbps links, creating a 2 Gbps aggregate ceiling. Port-based VLAN isolation prevents ports 1 to 8 from communicating with each other, limiting broadcast storms but also blocking direct peer-to-peer links between those devices. The switch forwards at wire speed with IEEE 802.3x flow control and store-and-forward architecture.

20 Gbps total switching capacity

The internal fabric handles 20 Gbps of non-blocking throughput, which determines how many simultaneous 1 Gbps streams the switch can sustain without congestion. Buyers who need higher aggregate bandwidth or managed features such as link aggregation, QoS or SNMP monitoring will need a different class of switch.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8 standard ports or the 2 uplink ports for my main devices?

Use the 8 standard ports for endpoints and the 2 uplink ports to link the switch upstream; all 10 ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps.

What does the 20 Gbps total bandwidth mean for daily traffic?

It is the aggregate switching capacity, so the 10 ports can forward up to 20 Gbps combined without blocking.

Which RJ45 standard caps the speed on each port?

IEEE 802.3 limits every port to 1000 Mbps, so 1 Gbps is the maximum per connection.
