Professional Heavy-Duty Alkaline Cleaner

This 5-gallon pail supplies Zep Professional R08535 concentrate for commercial and industrial cleaning crews. The non-abrasive, non-flammable formula tackles dirt, grease and grime on concrete, metal, tile, vinyl upholstery and unpainted machinery without chlorinated or petroleum solvents.

Dilution flexibility defines practical limits

Adjustable mixing ratios let operators match strength to the task, from light wipe-downs to heavy degreasing. The butyl-scented, ethylene-glycol-based liquid is USDA approved for meat and poultry plant floors and walls, yet it is non-toxic if accidentally ingested, broadening safe deployment across food-adjacent areas.

Replaces solvent-based degreasers

Switching eliminates chlorinated hydrocarbons, petroleum distillates and harsh caustics that damage finishes or require special ventilation. The jump is worth it when a single concentrate must cover floors, equipment, vehicle parts and upholstery while meeting food-plant safety standards and reducing flammability risk.

Questions about this item

Which size should I pick for regular shop use?

The product is supplied as a single 5‑gallon pail, model R08535, so there is no smaller or larger version to choose from.

What does the 5‑gallon volume mean for actual cleaning jobs?

The concentrate is diluted before use; the pail provides a large reservoir for mixing batches suited to floors, machinery, vinyl or tile surfaces.

How does the alkaline formula affect what it can clean?

Its non‑abrasive, low‑caustic alkaline chemistry cuts grease and grime on concrete, metal, plastic, vinyl upholstery and tile without spotting or flammability risk.
