500 lb Self-Lock Swing Arms

The zhijia12 brackets are a pair of steel folding supports rated for 500 lb per pair. They suit DIY builders adding fold-down legs to tables, beds, workbenches or mobile surfaces in RVs and food trucks. Each bracket locks automatically at any angle from 0 to 180 degrees.

Upgrade from basic hinges

Standard hinges rely on friction or a separate stay to hold position; these add a spring-loaded latch that engages without extra hardware. The jump is worth it when a surface must stay rigidly open or folded shut under load, such as a drop-leaf workbench or a convertible bed frame.

Quick-install with included screws

The pack supplies brackets and matching screws so mounting takes minutes with a drill or screwdriver. The 2.13 inch width and 2.68 by 2.8 inch footprint need flat, solid material for the fasteners to bite; thin particle board or oversized clearance holes are the usual cause of loosening over time.

Questions about this item

What mounting-hole spacing does the 2.68 x 2.8 inch bracket require?

The bracket base measures 2.68 inches long by 2.8 inches wide, so drill pilot holes to match that rectangle before fastening the included screws.

How do I engage the self-lock at 180 degrees without forcing the spring?

Swing the arm fully open until the double-spring mechanism clicks into the locked position; press the release switch only when you want to fold it again.

When should I replace the black baking-paint finish to keep the 500 lb rating?

Inspect the coating annually; if you see bare steel or rust forming, clean the area and apply a compatible metal paint to maintain corrosion protection.
