Insect MOC Butterflies Collection

This 940-piece building set lets adults assemble a detailed butterfly collection using interlocking plastic bricks. The bricks are made from durable ABS material and are designed to hold together tightly for a stable finished model. It arrives new and ready to build.

Step up from basic brick assortments

Unlike generic brick buckets that only offer standard rectangles, this set includes specialised elements such as wheels and axles alongside a wide colour palette. The jump is worth it when you want a themed display model rather than open-ended construction play.

Fits on a shelf or desk for display

The completed butterflies are intended as a decorative collection, so you only need a flat surface to show them off. No power, tools or additional hardware are required, freeing you to place the finished pieces wherever you like.

Questions about this item

What size baseplate or display area do the 940 pieces need when assembled?

The set contains 940 interlocking bricks that form multiple butterfly models; plan a flat surface roughly the size of a large coffee-table book so the finished insects can sit side by side without overhang.

Which step in the MOC-140287 instruction booklet do builders most often miss?

Builders frequently skip the internal Technic-frame stage for each butterfly wing, so the outer skin pieces have nothing to lock onto and the model collapses under its own weight.

What parts might need replacing after repeated rebuilds of the butterfly collection?

The ABS clutch hinges and wing-connection pins wear fastest; keep a small spares bag of those specific elements to maintain tight joints over many build cycles.
