DR-Baureihe 44 Steam Locomotive Build

This set contains 1196 interlocking bricks that form a detailed DR-Baureihe 44 steam locomotive model. It is designed for adult builders and advanced hobbyists who enjoy complex construction projects. The MOC-109845 kit arrives with PDF instructions rather than a printed manual.

100% Compatible with LEGO Bricks

The ABS plastic parts are engineered to fit tightly with all major building-block brands, so you can integrate pieces from existing collections. This compatibility upgrades a standard brick inventory into a specialised railway model without requiring a new ecosystem. The jump is worth it when you want a display-scale locomotive that matches the dimensions of your current modular layouts.

1196 Parts Provide Extended Building Sessions

The piece count supports multi-evening assembly and yields a finished model large enough for shelf display. Colour variety and specialised elements such as wheels and axles allow accurate running-gear detail. The set runs out of specialised train parts if you attempt to build a full consist or extended track layout.

Questions about this item

Does the 1196-piece DR-Baureihe 44 locomotive require a baseplate or special surface to build on?

No dedicated baseplate is included; the set builds on any flat surface and the bricks interlock tightly with standard stud spacing.

The PDF instructions are digital — what is the most common mistake builders make when starting this MOC-109845 set?

Builders often skip sorting the 1196 parts by colour and shape before step one, which leads to missing pieces mid-build.

If a brick cracks or goes missing from the 1196-piece set, what replacement options exist?

Individual bricks are standard ABS and fully compatible with LEGO elements, so any matching part from major brands will fit.
