Floor unit for gigging guitarists

The Zoom G6 multi-effects processor combines six custom amp models with decades of modulation, drive, delay and reverb algorithms in a single floorboard. Six stomp switches and a built-in expression pedal give hands-free control over every parameter. A 4.3-inch colour touchscreen provides a smartphone-class interface for patch editing and workflow selection. The unit is designed for players who need a complete rig that fits in a backpack.

Passive cooling with silent operation

No fans or moving cooling parts are present, so the processor runs silently on stage and in the studio. Power is supplied by the included external adapter, keeping the floorboard lightweight and free of internal heat sources. The all-digital signal path adds no audible noise floor to your signal chain. This makes the G6 suitable for quiet recording environments as well as live venues.

Mono effects loop and optional storage expandability

A mono effects loop lets you insert external pedals or connect to an amplifier’s send and return without extra cabling. The 45-second looper can be extended with an optional SD card for longer phrase capture. Seventy factory cab IRs and 120 user IR slots cover speaker simulation needs without additional hardware. Builders who need stereo looping or more than one expression pedal will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the FP02M expression pedal to the G6 so it controls volume or effect parameters?

The FP02M expression pedal is built into the right side of the G6 floor unit, so no separate cable or setup is required; assign its function per patch via the touchscreen.

Which consumable part will need replacement first on the G6?

The optional SD card used to expand the 45-second looper is the only user-replaceable media; the internal footswitches and touchscreen are not user-serviceable.

What is the first limit I hit when running a full signal chain at a gig?

The DSP allows up to nine effects plus amp emulation, so the block count is the first hard limit when building complex patches.
