SKU CH-WY56-5ZP49

A 4-inch cast-iron 90-degree short sweep elbow with female socket ends for drainage piping

  • 90° short sweep enables tight directional changes
  • Cast iron construction with bitumen coating resists corrosion
  • Class 20 rating suits standard drainage applications
  • 4-inch socket connections fit compatible piping systems
  • Zero psi pressure rating confirms gravity-flow design

90-Degree Short Sweep Elbow

This Zoro Select cast-iron elbow redirects flow by 90 degrees in drainage or vent systems. The short sweep radius suits tight runs where a long-radius bend will not fit. It is supplied new and ready for installation.

Four-Inch Socket Connections

Both ends accept 4-inch pipe with female socket joints measuring 4 7/16 inches. The Class 20 gray cast-iron body is bitumen coated and carries no pressure rating, confirming gravity-flow use only.

Solvent-Weld or Gasket Assembly

The socket ends require compatible pipe and either solvent cement or a mechanical gasket for a watertight seal. No flanges, threads or pressurised fittings are needed, simplifying the joint in below-grade or stack applications.

Questions about this item

What does the 90-degree sweep actually do inside a drainage run?

The short-radius 90-degree bend redirects flow through a right angle in a compact space, suited to tight DWV layouts.

How does the Class 20 cast-iron socket joint seal in service?

The female socket ends accept 4-inch pipe with lead-and-oakum or compression gaskets; the Class 20 rating covers standard soil-stack pressure.

What clearance is needed to fit the 4 7/16-inch socket diameter?

Allow at least 4 7/16 inches across the hub plus room for caulking tools; the short sweep keeps the overall footprint smaller than a long-radius equivalent.
