Grade 8 Zinc Yellow Hex Nuts

These Grade 8 steel hex nuts feature a zinc yellow finish and a 9/16"-12 UNC thread size. They meet ASME B 18.2.2 dimensional standards and come in a pack of 25. The right-hand threads suit standard inch-system fasteners.

Sustained load performance

Grade 8 material with Rockwell hardness C33 to C39 provides high tensile strength for demanding clamping forces. The zinc yellow coating offers corrosion resistance during extended exposure. Steel construction maintains structural integrity under continuous vibration and thermal cycling.

UNC thread interface limits

The 9/16"-12 UNC thread pitch determines compatibility with matching bolts and studs. Hex width of 7/8 in and hex height of 31/64 in define the wrench engagement envelope. Right-hand thread direction follows conventional inch-system assembly practice.

Questions about this item

Will the Grade 8 steel and zinc-yellow finish handle continuous vibration without loosening or corroding?

Grade 8 steel with a Rockwell hardness of C33 to C39 resists deformation under load, while the zinc-yellow coating protects against rust during extended service.

What thread size and wrench size are needed to install these nuts?

Each nut has a 9/16"-12 UNC thread and a 7/8 in hex width, so a 7/8 in wrench or socket fits the 25-piece pack.

Can these nuts mate with older coarse-thread bolts already in my equipment?

Yes, the UNC 9/16"-12 thread matches standard coarse-thread bolts of the same diameter and pitch.
