Magnetic Retrieval Tool

The Zoro Select magnetic pick-up tool is a hand tool designed to retrieve ferrous metal objects from hard-to-reach areas. It uses a neodymium magnet with a one-inch diameter head to provide a maximum magnetic pull capacity of eight pounds.

Mechanics and DIY users

This tool suits mechanics, technicians and DIY users who need to recover dropped screws, bolts or small parts in engine bays, behind equipment or inside tight cavities. It is not intended for lifting heavy components, non-magnetic materials or for use as a permanent holder.

Eight-pound pull capacity

The magnet comfortably handles lightweight ferrous items such as fasteners, washers and small hand tools up to its eight-pound limit. It runs out when the object exceeds that pull force, when the target is non-magnetic or when the head cannot physically reach the item.

Questions about this item

Does this pick-up tool require a separate handle or power source to operate?

No, the stainless-steel handle with spring-plunger action and the built-in neodymium magnet are integrated, so the tool works on its own without batteries or extra parts.

Will the 1-inch magnet head fit into the same tight spaces as my older claw-style retriever?

The fixed shaft and 1-inch diameter magnet head are larger than many claw tips, so it may not reach into the narrowest cavities that a multi-jaw tool can enter.

How can I verify the 8 lb magnetic pull is holding securely after I engage the release?

Lift a known ferrous weight close to 8 lb; if the magnet releases only when you press the spring-plunger, the tool is functioning as designed.
